Nora McInerny Purmort

We’ve been busy collaborating with Minneapolis-based writer/personality Nora McInerny Purmort (aka @noraborealis on the internet), who became a rising star & powerful online presence when the blog where she chronicled her husbands’ terminal cancer went viral.  Since then she’s written a book full of essays about her cinematic life’s events, and she started a nonprofit called Still Kickin to create a braver and more supportive world by helping people who are going through hard things.  And as a notable widow (her words), Nora is using her influence as the creator/founder of the Hot Young Widows Club, which she refers to as “the HYWC for short”.

It’s Okay to Laugh (Crying Is Cool Too)

Nora asked us to create a series of social media teasers to promote the release of her book, It’s Okay to Laugh (Crying Is Cool Too).  We took a comedic approach to these videos, because though her essays are largely about the serious and sad stuff of being human, it is also a very funny book; we wanted the videos to convey that relatable humor that is notoriously Nora.

You can watch a few of our favorite promos below, and more on the Kylee and Christian Creative x Nora McInerny Purmort vimeo channel here!

Father’s Day with Nora and Ralph

We followed the comedy duo that is Nora and Ralph around at home & in their garden with our cameras, and created this mini-documentary to show the world how they celebrate Father’s Day without their dads.

Terrible, Thanks for Asking

TTFA is a new podcast hosted by Nora that asks people to be honest about their pain.  We made this announcement video to promote the podcast’s release on American Public Media later this fall.

You can find Nora’s writing on the pages of Elle.comHuffington Post, and TIMES, and of course, on Twitter.

We love working with our friend Nora and are excited for all the collaborations to come.  Stay tuned!
